Bolton Sailing Club is a Sailability foundation site, supporting people with disabilities who want to sail. Over the past few years we have improved the club’s facilities to ensure that we are accessible. We now have a fully functioning disabled toilet and shower room, accessible access to the clubhouse and 2 Access boats.
In the past 5 years BSC have provided a sailing week for a 120 children with special needs. We also provide a sailing day for primary age children with special needs in July each year.
In July Bolton host the Lancashire Special School Sailing Regatta, this has taken place for the last four years. We have also hosted the Sailability Northern Regatta ,where young people from Yorkshire and Lancashire race against each other using Access boats.
Volunteers
All of these events would not be possible without the support of club members who volunteer their time. The club is one of the pilot clubs for the Sailability Volunteer Scheme. We are always looking for more volunteers for this years events , if you are interested please contact Warren.
