SECOND AND FORTY-FIRST AT 24 HOUR RACE

Light airs signalled the start of the 42nd 24 Hour Race on the marine lake at Southport on Saturday. Starting in the 'A' team was Ian Platt and Alex Pilkington and starting for the 'B' team were Chris and Julie Waddington. GP14 National Masters Championship at Budworth SC

4th @ 12 Hour Race

The Bolton Juniors took fourth place at Southport on Saturday in what turned out to be an excellent days sailing with a pretty decent wind direction and and the rain holding off. This year, the team consisted of Ruth Shevelan, Tom Robinson, Alex Pilkington, Nathan Waring and Rachel Moodie. GP14 Open @ Bolton SC

Low grey cloud and incessant rain look ominous for both the competitors and the OOD as they turned up at Bolton Sailing Club's GP14 open. Eleven travellers weren't deterred from making the journey to join the thirteen club boats and despite continuous rain during rigging spirits seemed to be high at this the second event of the Northern circuit. The weather lived up to the forecast of overcast conditions and a shifty F3 South Westerly wind. Less than week remaining to enter 2008 RYA Youth Nationals

Sailors still to enter the 2008 RYA Youth National Championships and Trials are reminded they have until SUNDAY 16 MARCH to get their entries in. The 2008 Championships are being staged at Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club from Saturday 29 March to Friday 4 April and are guaranteed, as always, to attract the top under 19 racers in the country to do battle in North Wales.
