Hi, a quick update regarding recent developments at the sailing club: 1. ** NEWS FLASH ** NEWS FLASH ** NEWS FLASH ** NEWS FLASH ** The contractors have arrived with heavy plant at Belmont this morning and the Coffer dam is now being removed and will allow the water level to return to normal.

Now that the water levels have increased adult series racing will recommence with effect from Sunday 29th August 2010 when the new series will begin following adult racing being suspended for 6 weeks due to a combination of the recent drought conditions and United Utilities work on the Spillway. It is hoped that there are now sufficient reserves of water in the reservoir to enable racing to continue without disruption…

After a short absence from organised adult racing due to somebody misplacing 8.5 metres of water, the reservoir is now pretty much back up to the three metre down mark for the dam work. That means this Sunday we're back to proper racing with the start of a new series. Last Sunday was a bit of a "getting back on the water" day with lots of people turning up for some racing.
