NEWSFLASH – ADULT RACING WILL RECOMMENCE ON SUNDAY 22nd AUGUST
Dear Member,
Just to let you know that at the last sailing committee meeting, we reviewed the current water levels and on the basis that the water is now at the 4.75M level (Tuesday 11/8/2010) adult series racing will recommence with effect from Sunday 29th August 2010 when the new series will begin.
However to get back into the swing of things, there will be 3 races on Sunday 22nd August 2010 commencing at 12:24hrs. Note that there will no galley facilities on this day.
Additionally as the adult racing was suspended for 6 weeks the Club Captain has reworked the OOD list and the OOD duties reallocated to take account of this period.
Please watch the post as a letter and new OOD list will be landing on your door mat early next week!
Having spoken to United Utilities yesterday morning I have been advised that the water extraction rate is remaining at 6M/L per day for the foreseeable future and that the Spillway project is on programme and is nearing completion.
It is hoped that there are now sufficient reserves of water in the reservoir to enable racing to continue without disruption to the end of the season and we will, weather permitting, recommence next season with a reservoir at full capacity.
What’s been happening – Well the GP sailors have been at Abersoch for their Nationals and the rest of the club seem to have been at Bass week with the Juniors having a great time and David and Lesley have taken a number of wins in the Graduate. The Supernovas will be away again at the Inlands at Northampton 21/22 August with at least 6 boats taking part.
We are running a powerboat course this weekend (there are still a couple of places available please speak to Andrew Craig (andrew@sail.org.uk)).
See you around the club
