SWSC Waterhead Race

Not that we generally plug external sailing events that clash with our usual Sunday sailing but several boats are heading north this Sunday for the annual South Windermere Sailing Club Waterhead Race. Stuart and I competed last year and thoroughly enjoyed the event and the hospitality from the sailing club.

Maybe see you there?

Here’s the details…

South Windermere Sailing Club
The Waterhead Race
Sunday 13th June 2010

This is SWSC’s Premier Event held annually in June.

It is open to all dinghies (including keeboats) with a PN of less than 1180. (Separate starts may be given for each fleet.)

The race starts at Fell Foot Park at the South end of the lake and heads North for approximately 10.5 miles to a turning mark at Waterhead. The finish is back near the Clubhouse. Briefing 10.00am, start 11.00am.

This is a charity event, all entry fees go to the chosen charity.

The race is well sponsored by local businesses, which donate a variety of excellent prizes.

So if you fancy a long distance race in beautiful surroundings, make a note of the date.

Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions are available on the SWSC website at http://www.swsailing.org/open_events.html
