Bolton Sailing Club

This year the club entered two teams for the Junior 12 Hour Race at Southport SC. The teams were intent on improving on last year’s results of 14^th and 19^th positions. The ‘A’ team consisted of Alex & Leanne Pilkington, Tom Robinson, Nathan Waring, Ruth Shevelan and Rebecca Paul. Our juniors have just taken part in the annual 12 Hour Race at Southport SC. You can see the photos in our gallery at http://www.sail.org.uk/gallery/v/2007/12hr2007/

We came an excellent 6th and 16th out of 20. Well done to all who took part and thanks to all those people who came to support the teams. Also big thanks to Mark Platt and Rob Paul for lending their GP14s to the teams. Sadly Marks boat didn’t come back unscathed, with a bent tiller extension after a capsize and a chunk of rubbing strip missing due to a Port/Starboard coming together (we were on starboard!).

We also brought back two trophies! One for the fastest two laps after noon, and also fastest two laps after noon for an under 18 team.
