Mark and Rob dominate at Bolton GP14 Open

Finally the light winds that had dominated the opening events of the Northern Travellers series were replaced with an early fresh breeze. The talk amongst the arriving travellers at Bolton SC wasn’t about when and whether there would be a first race but more how little sailing gear would be appropriate in the bright sunshine that greeted all.

Lightning Open Meeting Bolton Sailing Club 28th April 2007

Supernova Open at Bolton Sailing Club

Bolton Sailing Club hosted the Supernova Open on Saturday 28th April. Helms travelled from as far away as the North East and South Wales 13 boats took part in the competition with the host club entering five boats. I’ve added to the Members Area (see menu on right) the current OOD list and calendar of events as it stands and also a link to the current Sunday results, even though there is currently only GP14 results on at the moment (Thanks Andy B!).

Symmetric Hikers Challenge

Date: 14/15 July 2007
Venue: Rutland SC
Open to: Non-trapeze, conventional spinnaker boats with a PY less than 1200.
i.e. Flying 15, GP14, Kestrel, Lark, Merlin Rocket, MRX, Scorpion, Wayfarer etc
Format: 2 races Saturday + 3 races Sunday (3 to count)
First starts 1300 and 1030 approx

Sponsored Prizes:

Sunsail holiday – draw will take place at 9pm on Saturday night in Rutland Sailing Club. All event competitors are entered into the draw.*

1st overall – New mast* (Superspar)
2nd overall – £50 cash (Dinghy Sailing Magazine)
3rd overall – £25 cash (Dinghy Sailing Magazine)
1st junior – £25 cash (Dinghy Sailing Magazine)
