RYA endorses applications for ‘Sports Club of the Year Awards’ 2007
The RYA recently invited clubs to apply for the Sports Club of the Year Awards which are run annually by the Foundation of Sports and the Arts (FSA) and Central Council for Physical Recreation (CCPR) with a 1st prize of £6000.
A number of high quality applications were received, but unfortunately the RYA are only able to endorse a maximum of three for consideration by the Sports Club of the Year panel.
After careful consideration the three clubs chosen to go forward are:
Rutland Sailability
Access 2 Watersports (Covenham Sailing Club)
Bolton Sailing Club
Each of these clubs fulfils the CCPR criteria: to encourage more people to take part in our sport, have a proven track record in working with schools, local authorities and other community organisations and have high standards of good practice, safety and governance.
The CCPR will announce the winners in April, with prizes being awarded at the Sports Club of the Year dinner, in May.
Until then it’s ‘fingers crossed’ for our three clubs.
